Legislation Will Never Beat Evil, But What Will?

For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. – James 3:16

Early this morning, I saw a headline about gun shots ringing out during a live newscast on a local news channel in Virginia. I clicked on it to see what was going on. It made me uneasy and, like everyone, I wondered what in the world was happening. Shortly after, the story was updated to reveal that the reporter and cameraman were killed while the interviewee had been shot and taken to a hospital. I’m sure everyone has seen the story today and I will not go into details or post the link. My point, however, is to point out that, once again, within a couple of hours of the tragedy, the Obama administration and all like-minded ilk were crying about gun control. I also saw several tweets from various presidential candidates that were all very respectful. Then, there was Hillary’s . . .

hillary tweet

In the past, I have covered the absolute stupidity of gun control on several occasions. While liberals like to cry about “common sense gun control,” it is clear that the entire notion is false and an oxymoron in itself. Gun control does not contain a single ounce of common sense and will never reduce crime. It is, however, a drive for more government control and dictation over big government’s perceived subjects, we the people. My point today, however, is to counter the pathetic clamoring for gun control by not focusing on guns.

As I reflected on this morning’s tragedy, the things that came to mind were more internal things.   At the foundation of that crime this morning was not the existence and use of an inanimate object, but the complete lack of personal responsibility, respect, morality, wisdom, and things of that nature.   We are a society that has tried to remove God from everything. The result of separating ourselves from God and lifting ourselves up as our own god is a society rampant with selfishness, immaturity, disrespect, an attitude of entitlement, foolishness, impatience, divisiveness, vengeance, anger, hate, lust, and have no thought of the future or of any future consequences to current choices. Reminds me quite a bit of Paul’s words to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 –

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.

All of the things mentioned in 2 Timothy are overwhelming in our society! It seems like people have no sense of right and wrong. I still believe in right and wrong. I believe that evil exists. If we allow liberals to have their way and let them take every firearm from every law abiding citizen (because that’s what we’re really talking about with “gun control”), does anyone really think they will eradicate evil in our world?! If you actually believe that, let me tell you about an ocean front property in Arizona that I’d love to sell you. I’ll make you a great deal! The answer is clearly NO!!!! If no firearms existed in citizens’ hands, evil will STILL exist and make its filthy presence known! So, how can we deal with evil? How can we turn things around to where we have a better sense of right and wrong? How can we regain a conscience and respect for fellow man and life in general?

Our only hope to change the direction of our country is not to deal with inanimate objects. Those things can be used for good or evil, depending on the handler. What matters is the intent of what’s in that person’s heart. So, how do we change the heart? None of it lies in humanity. The answer is to turn back to God, repent from our sin and draw near to Him. James 4:8 plainly says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”

Joel 2:12-13 states, “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness and He relents from doing harm.”

Do you know what it means when Joel says to “rend your heart, and not your garments”? The word “rend” means “to tear (hair or clothing) as a sign of anger, grief, or despair,” according to Mirriam-Webster.  Back in Joel’s day, folks would literally tear their clothes when they were anguished about something, full of grief, etc. Joel is telling us to be grief-stricken about our condition to the point of despair and wanting to tear up something! Instead of ripping our clothes, though, he is telling us to allow our hearts to be broken regarding our condition – to be broken before the Lord, humble, and repentant. It is in that, and ONLY that, that God can lift us up out of our filth and restore us. James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”

We have a choice. We can repent and return to the Lord and live under His covering and blessing, or we can continue on our path to self destruction and receive His judgment. Things will only get worse on our current course. When Israel had wandered away, God told them to return or become a passing thought to all other nations. What will it be, America?   Do we try to trust politicians and continue on our path to destruction? Or, do we turn it around and let the Lord revive us as a nation?

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land . . . But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods, and worship them, then I will uproot them from My land which I have given them and this house which I have sanctified for My name I will cast out of My sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. – 2 Chron. 7:14, 19

I’ve made my choice.  ” . . . As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  Joshua 24:15

Meadows Wants Boehner Out . . . me too!

In what Fox News calls an “unprecedented” move in the House of Representatives, Rep. Mark Meadows of North Carolina has filed a resolution to remove John Boehner as House Speaker.  Will he be successful?  I doubt it, but I really don’t know.  I don’t have a clue, but I love the fact that Meadows did this!

Mr. Meadows, I don’t know anything about you, sir, but I have just gained a tremendous amount of respect for you.  Let’s admit it, we all know Boehner is worthless as Speaker, just as McConnell is worthless as Senate Majority Leader.  They all bow down to Obama and give him everything he wants while they lie to the American people who put them in office.  I am thrilled to see someone other than Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and a small handful of others stand up and say and do what is necessary.  I would hope that more will follow.  We need more people willing to stand up and go against democrats and the republican establisment!  Thank you, again, Mr. Meadows!

An Unapologetic Re-boot!

It’s a new day and a new season of life!

Perhaps some of you have been with me from the beginning, in 2012.  Perhaps you have just recently stumbled upon Unapologetically Right.  Allow me to do a quick introduction and let you in on where I am heading.

I am a very proud American.  I am proud that I am a man, newly (and happily) married to a wife, as the Lord intended marriage . . . one man and one woman.  I am proud of our country’s heritage and I love America’s history.  It’s not all perfect, but the principles on which we were founded have brought about the greatest amount of prosperity and freedom to the world than any other country has ever done or seen!  I proudly believe in capitalism.  More importantly, I am an unapologetic Christian and believe in the one, True God.  Jesus is my Redeemer.  I believe this country was founded upon principles directly found in Scripture.

So where is this heading?

Before taking a 2+ year hiatus, due to many restraints, I griped a LOT.  I researched and tried to find good stuff to write about in the news.  I griped a whole lot about the Obama administration.  I also tried to have educational posts that explored American history.  Have I mentioned griping, yet?  Yeah, I griped a lot.

I still will.  Lord knows there’s plenty to gripe about and point out!

However, here is where I am.  I am in a somewhat slow and gradual process of rebooting and breathing new life into Unapologetically Right!!  I am back to the point of wanting to write, when I’m able, and get TRUTH out there!  My direction will be slightly different, however.  While there will always be enough wrong to point out, I’ve had it with the people in DC!  I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the only things that will help us return to our greatness is returning to God and our Constitution.  That’s it!  We must turn back to our Creator and receive Him into our lives, rather than slap Him in the face by telling Him we don’t want or need Him as a nation!  We must also remember our history and return to our Constitution.

As I prepare to reboot Unapologetically Right, my focus is more on researching our founders and discussing them, their lives, beliefs, etc.  I want to remember our history and discuss the Constitution.  I want to have plenty of emphasis on Scripture, as well.  I have, simply, reached a point where I am tired of all the complaining and griping of others.  I’m tired of doing it, myself.  I am ready to stand FOR something and to discuss the GOOD that has been done in our country’s history and the ways we can change to return to our greatness!  So, that is the direction I’ll be going.  I am working on relaunching the podcast, as well.  The podcast will be similar to what it was before, but with the same emphases I just mentioned.  I do hope to do some “on the street” interviews and line up more interviews with people who have more knowledge about things than I do!

I hope you will join me on this journey!  It will be fun, once I get everything rolling.  It will, hopefully, be informative, as well.  If any of you have any suggestions on things/people you’d like to hear about, please let me know.  Otherwise, stay tuned for more!

Thanks everybody!

A Muslim Issue, Among Other Things

It is heartbreaking to hear more and more stories like the one out of Chattanooga, TN, yesterday. It is disheartening and frustrating to think that it can all be prevented – or, at least, held to a minimum – if we had responsible leadership and laws. Instead, the excuse we have for leadership is on the wrong side of every single issue known to man. However, since we don’t have the luxury of time to deal with every issue known to man, let’s focus on what we’re dealing with that brings us such things as, yet, another muslim terrorist attack on American soil.

First, we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, these muslims . . . yes, they are muslims . . . maybe “radicalized,” but they are muslims . . . want the infidel dead. They consider us infidels therefore, they want us dead. They have waged war against us in the name of their evil “god.” What has me angry, however, is the Obama administration’s complete lack of honesty when referring to people committing terrorist attacks. I don’t know if Obama has EVER mentioned the words “Islamic terrorism” or “radical Islam” or anything at all that puts Islam in a bad light. An enemy is NEVER defeated without first defining it and acknowledging it.

I’m not a huge fan of Charles Krauthammer, but sometimes, I find that we’re on the same page.   He recently made points that I completely agree with. He mentions a pattern he sees every time Obama makes his useless remarks about another terrorist attack. The attacks are always by muslims, but Obama goes out of his way to, as Krauthammer suggests, “disconnect the dots.”   He never admits it is muslim terrorists, radical Islamists, or anything else. To Obama, it is always an “isolated incident” with a “lone gunman.”   Krauthammer goes on to say, “I think it’s sort of the whole six and a half years of Obama always wanting to err on the side of downplaying the threat. The threat is radical Islam, which he won’t say.” For crying out loud, remember the Ft. Hood shooting that was labeled an incident of “workplace violence”? You think? Yeah . . . it was terrorism in the workplace of those servicemen by a radical muslim terrorist. Nothing more or less than that!

I won’t take the time to give examples to recall, but you can reference this article from The Atlantic, if you’d like, for a few examples. Another aspect that drives me insane is the other anti-American folks Obama has around him that do verbal acrobatics to defend his trash. In this Townhall article, see how the DHS Secretary explains why Obama won’t say “Radical Islam” in describing ISIS.  Apparently, they don’t think ISIS represents Islam and don’t want to connect them.  Also, here, his biggest advisor, Valerie Jarrett, tries to justify Obama’s lack of definition by stating that other groups of terrorists “weren’t of any particular faith. And so before we start throwing around labels, let’s look more broadly at terrorism.”

Wow.

Obama, in his book Audacity of Hope, has been attributed to saying, “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” Granted, I know that this particular sentence has been used as a direct quote and it is not. It is a paraphrase from a longer passage. Obama did not say all of those exact words, but he did say most of them. The paraphrased part is “I will stand with the Muslims.” The rest of it he did say. The paraphrased part pretty well sums up the rest of his actual statement, as well. Besides, who cares what he actually said?! Look at the man’s actions and attitudes over the past 6 years. It’s clear that he means it as the paraphrase reads.

CBS News has an article from Feb. 19, 2015 where Obama is quoted as saying, “The notion that the West is at war with Islam is an ugly lie.” No. No, that’s not true at all (though I could easily prove that virtually every word out of Obama’s mouth is an “ugly lie”). Actually, let me retract my last sentence and admit there really is some truth to his statement. We are not at war with Islam because we have the most spineless, unprincipled, anti-American leadership that there ever has been. On the other side of it, Islam is at war with us. We simply are not taking care of business as it should be. We should be at war with those at war with us and we should have that war won, with the threat neutralized ASAP . . . but not with this muslim sympathizer who is doing his darndest to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.”

To take a small tangent, I’ll admit that I am shocked that I have not heard more bleeding heart liberals whine about more gun control, even though yesterday’s murders were done in a “gun free zone.” They usually do by now and, I mean, that little zone worked out real well, didn’t it? However, if history proves to be true, the outcry will probably come, and it simply is not a gun issue. It is not an issue that deals with any political agenda. It is not any issue that this administration would try to make us believe. The issues I see are:

  • It is a muslim issue. From what I can tell, muslim ideaology, sharia law and the like are antithetical to American life, ideals, and laws. Most of the terrorists we encounter are muslim. Period. I’d like to think there are exceptions, but it seems that most terrorists are muslim – not all muslims are terrorists, but it seems all the terrorists are muslims. They want us dead; therefore, muslim issue. While I’m sure there are plenty of peaceful muslims, it doesn’t change the fact that most of the terrorist attacks happening are by muslims. Also, what religion is it of the group of people in Iran that chant “Death to America”? Oh yeah . . . muslim.
  • It is a border issue. Our borders are not secure at all. They are wide open for any and all terrorists to come over at any time. So, many people that may seek to do us harm may be here among us already . . . in fact, we know that they are. We are less and less secure every day and will be until we secure our border.
  • It is a leadership issue. No longer does this country have any leadership that upholds our Constitution, enforces our laws, or takes it’s job seriously. We have no leadership looking out for the good of the country, or that respects our ways and our laws.
  • It is an issue of having completely foolish, harmful laws (put in place by democrats, mind you), such as gun free zones, disarming our military on their own bases and training centers, etc.
  • It is an issue of dumbing down ourselves and our kids. Public education is a joke. People do not teach patriotism, history, respect, or anything worthwhile anymore. Instead, the emphases are on what’s going on between someone’s legs, the gay agenda, and everything surrounding Hollywood and social media.
  • It s an issue of leaving God and our founding principles behind. If we would raise up people that believe in what we once did, as a nation, and grow a spine, we can recuperate. It will be very hard, but I believe possible.

To end, I don’t know that I can say it any better than Allen West in an article he posted on July 17, 2015, so here are his words to close:

I close by saying simply, I do not care where Barack Obama was born. I do not know if he is a Muslim or not, nor do I care. What I am sick of is an Islamist sympathizer sitting in the White House who cares more about gay athletes coming out of the closet than our men and women being killed by these barbarians. This is another terrorist attack against our military in America on Obama’s watch, and he evidences not a care.

Hello?

(tap, tap, tap . . . )  Hello?  Is this thing on??

It has been a LONG time since Unapologetically Right has been active.  Many changes have taken place over the last couple of years.  I still have a voice, opinions and convictions that MUST be shared!  Truth is still under attack.  Our very way of life is under attack.  I cannot deny it or ignore it any longer and am reviving this thing.  New thoughts will be coming in the near future.  In the meantime, enjoy this audio blast from the past (I know, the news clips are outdated, but . . . well, it’s a blast from the past!)

Happy Independence Day, everybody!!

Another Record High (but we don’t want it)

Well, America, this week was another rerun of the same worthless show that the GOP has given us the past 5 years, with the exception of Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and a handful of others.  While the world had plenty of time to see the spitefulness, childishness, and complete void of responsibility that is the Obama administration during the so-called “government shutdown,” Republican leaders demonized their own (Ted Cruz and co.) and caved like the pile of wusses they are.  They talked a good game and for a small bit, I had hope.  Then, as if on cue, Boehner and company derailed America, again, and planted their noses right back in the rear end of the progressives.  I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, but real quick, here’s what I understand happened in the alleged deal to re-open the government (that never really was closed):

  • The whole ordeal was, supposedly, about Obamacare and its funding.  Did anybody else feel like they spoke about that at the beginning, then maybe at the very end, but that entire discussion was lost in the juvenile delinquency and hostility of this administration?
  • GOP caved to “make a deal to re-open the government.”  That deal included everything Obama cried about and nothing the republicans supposedly fought for.
  • The debt ceiling was raised.
  • Obamacare was not delayed or defunded, so remains intact for the destruction of our health care and economy.
  • Oh, and perhaps one of the best things (as if those aren’t already great enough), Mitch McConnell got a $2 billion earmark for his home-state in the deal.

Well, the Washington Times reported today that this wonderful compromise only included a date extension on the nation’s borrowing limit.  You got that?  A date to cut it off.  Not a dollar amount.  So, any amount this administration can waste between now and the cut off date is apparently allowable.  That being the case, today marked a new record high in our nation’s debt!

Today . . . and today alone . . . America’s debt increased by $328 BILLION . . . . just today.  That officially puts us over the $17 trillion mark.  You can read the whole story here, but a graph is below.

debtchart_s800x430

This is going to be swell.  Thanks, Boehner and all you other spineless twits.  (For the record, I only blame the GOP for caving.  Everything leading up to that was completely in Obama and the dems court.)

Oh, and to top it all off, Obama has declared that, now, he wants to push for immigration reform . . . aka, amnesty . . . along with higher taxes and spending.

I know I’ve said it, but if you are familiar with Cloward & Piven, Marxism, Saul Alinsky, the communist agenda for America, the Nazi propaganda machine . . . this all makes sense.  It has all been done and talked about and Obama follows the script.  If you aren’t familiar, please do the research and help become a part to the solution.
